GTA: Connected - Service Shutdowns

This announcement applies ONLY to Savline's GTA: Connected services, in particular, our GTA:IV Freeroam server.

Greetings.

Savline Roleplay will be shutting down all its services on the Grand Theft Auto: Connected (GTA:C) client as of October 13, 2024. The GTA: IV Freeroam server will be closing down as we officially end all association with GTA: Connected.

We've come to this decision after quite some time and numerous interactions with the GTA:C staff, both before and during Savline Roleplay's time on the client. The client's management have proven to be antagonizing and impossible from any practical standpoint to work with. GTA:C's Manager, VortrexFTW, is notorious for abusive treatment, editing, bending and manipulating their rules in his own favor, causing drama and havoc, and banning dissenting players for speaking out. This behavior is further entertained, allowed or otherwise disregarded/ignored by Jack Powell, the owner of the client.

As a result of this Stalinist-style management, this causes operational issues and provides no reason for resources dedicated to any Savline service on GTA Connected. Savline Roleplay never has and never will tolerate this sort of conduct, nor is totalitarian Bolshevism our community's policy. Our members are always free to voice concerns and have disagreements, provided they abide by the rules and do so respectfully and with civility. GTA: Connected does not provide for that at all, but silences any and all criticism or dissent. Given the inconsistencies in our conduct and standards, compared to those of GTA: Connected, Savline Roleplay has terminated all GTA:C-related services.

GTA:C's management, notably Vortrex and Jack Powell have also been sanctioned by Savline Roleplay, including blanket bans from all our services and external referrals to all our community partners regarding the realities of the client and the team as reference for further sanctions if and as our affiliates see fit. No services, no contributions (financial or otherwise) nor interactions will take place between GTA: Connected and Savline Roleplay as of this announcement onward.

Individuals are free to do whatever they wish as far as GTA: Connected is concerned. Our policy does not restrict any member of our community from playing GTA:C if they so wish. It is, however, our strong recommendation, for your own sanity, that you avoid the client at all costs.
