Locksmith Job Guide

A locksmith is a professional who creates, repairs, and duplicates keys. In-game, your role as a locksmith is to provide players with duplicate keys for their vehicles, properties, and other lockable assets, making it easier for them to share access with friends, family, or associates.

Step 1: Apply for the Job

• Visit Los Santos City Hall.
• Click on the City Hall NPC.
• Select "I want to apply for a job".
• Choose "Locksmith".

After successfully applying, you will receive the following information:

Code Select Expand

Use /copykey [key type] [key ID] to duplicate keys.
The key you want to duplicate must be in your inventory.


Supported Key Types

When using the [tt]/copykey[/tt] command, you must specify the correct key type and key ID.

Currently supported key types include:

1 - House
2 - Business
3 - Vehicle

/copykey 1 [key ID]

Replace [key ID] with the ID of the key you wish to duplicate.


How to Duplicate Keys

• Ask the customer to provide the key they want duplicated.
• Ensure the key is in your inventory before attempting to copy it.

• Once the duplicate key has been created, return it to the customer.

Finding Customers

As a locksmith, your income depends on providing services to other players.

• Advertise your locksmith services using the appropriate in-game advertisement systems.
• Let players know that you can create duplicate keys for their vehicles, houses, businesses, and other assets.
• Arrange a meeting location and roleplay the duplication process with your customer.

Roleplay Example

• A player contacts you requesting a duplicate key.
• You meet the customer and inspect the key.
• The customer hands you the key.
• You create a duplicate using the locksmith command.
• You hand over the duplicated key and charge an agreed-upon fee for the service.

• This is a completely legal job, so feel free to advertise your services publicly.
