Posting a Ban Appeal or an Unban Request

PLEASE READ THIS TOPIC THOROUGHLY BEFORE FILING A BAN APPEAL OR AN UNBAN REQUEST.

There are two separate forms linked at the bottom of this post - one for a ban appeal and one for an unban request. If you accept your ban and wish to request an unban, you must use the unban request form. If you wish to contest your ban on a belief it was wrongful or misinformed, you must use the ban appeal form. An appeal may be denied and the post may be converted to an unban request.

If your appeal is denied by a member of HQ and you wish to appeal their denial, you may request that a superior handle the request and re-evaluate the situation. In theory, you can appeal denials up to the Community Owners - however, you are advised to do so with caution. Wasting time on wrongful, baseless, or otherwise stupid appeals will only cause the HQ to treat you harsher or outright deny your appeal/request. If you genuinely believe your appeal to be valid and you do so with the right intentions in a civil manner, then feel welcome to ask for a superior to assess your case.

If you don't know the answer to any of the fields, please write 'Unknown' or an approximation.

It is also required that you provide supporting information. If you're appealing your ban, you must clearly explain what happened from your perspective and why you believe the ban to be wrongful. If you aren't disputing a ban, you must address your actions accordingly. For example, if you were banned for using hacks or cheats, you'll need to acknowledge the use of those cheats, confirm their removal and provide assurance that you will not use them again.

IMPORTANT: Information that should not be included in an unban request:
- Your IP address or other personal information such as your email address.
- Your opinion about being banned.
- Your opinion about the admin who banned you or the staff as a whole.
- Any other information that is not relevant to the unban request.

IMPORTANT: Information that should not be included in a ban appeal:
- Your IP address or other personal information such as your email address.
- Your opinion about the admin who banned you or the staff as a whole.
- Baseless allegations (i.e. of bias) or any other information that isn't relevant to the appeal.

Savline Roleplay recognises that players will have various excuses. The following will either not be accepted or will require a certain threshold of evidence for acceptance and consideration:

- Your account was accessed by someone else and the rules were broken without your knowledge. This may be acceptable under certain circumstances, however, if this happens more than once due to your failure to take appropriate measures, you will be held to account.

- You used hacks or cheats to defend yourself from another hacker.

It should further be noted that Savline Roleplay will deny unban requests or ban appeals containing the following/as a result of the following actions:

- Threats.
- Abuse, insults, profanity.
- Lying.
- Sending forum PMs to the banning staff member or other staff. Spam or nagging in the topic.
- Ban evasion.

The following are good ways to have your ban lifted:

- Being completely honest and cooperative from the get-go.
- Being patient.
- Being respectful.
- Remaining calm, cooperative and respectful towards the banning administrator and the HQ, even when disputing the circumstances of the ban, or the ban itself.

Savline Roleplay is willing to be lenient to players who have been banned but are open and honest about it. It is in your best interests to admit to any wrongdoing on your part immediately. If, after investigating your case, we believe you to be lying, we will deny your unban request/ban appeal.
